The Proposal

Kevin had arranged a secret vacation for the both of us. I didn't know where we were going and didn't snoop to find out. On Friday morning Kev tells me to get home right after work and that we would have to go to bed around 6 pm because we would have to wake up at 1 am. To most people this might sound crazy, but after 5 years with Kevin, nothing seems too crazy anymore. We got in bed while it was still light out; neither of us could sleep. We tossed and turned and I wondered where the yell were we going. I eventually did fall asleep and got up around 12:30 am. I got the last of my things together, took a shower, got dressed etc. and was washing the dishes when Kev announced our ride is here. I looked at out the window and saw a limo. I immediately dropped the dishes, ran outside and got in the limo. As soon as we drove down the street, Kev asked to you want to know where we're going. I said "yes" and thought that we couldn't be going too far. Kev pulled out a packet of computer printed pictures. The first picture was what looked like mud, the second looked like more mud, the third looked like water and mud, and the fourth was a picture of North America and South America with a star somewhere in the ocean - the bottom read Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. I was shocked but extremely happy and excited. I've never gone past Florida. Puerto Rico here we come. The plane ride was not as bad as they usually are for me - a few drinks didn't hurt. We arrived into Puerto Rico around noon. When we got to our resort, Kev had a massage, manicure, and pedicure already set up for me at the spa. After my treatments, we met up, walked around the gorgeous resort, and then went up to our room. I walked in to find 2 dresses (I'm wearing one in the picture), a bathing suit, a bracelet, and a hat lying on the bed. Kev had shipped some new clothing for me to Puerto Rico just to make sure I had everything I needed. It was so sweet - but what can I say, that's Kevin. Kev thought we should hurry up so we could watch the sunset on the beach and then get dinner. While on the beach, I noticed Kev wiping his sweaty forehead adn and looking really nervous. I asked him if he was alright. I was worried, I never seen him act this way before. He looked out at the beautiful sunset over the ocean and said, "Everything is so perfect." Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Well of course I was shocked, but I kinda knew something was up when he started to act so nervous. Oh ya, I said yes. The rest of the vacation was great. It was warm, sunny and just perfect. A wonderful start to our engagement and to our new life together.
